court-records.us/ may earn revenue from display advertising, sponsorships, or affiliate relationships. Revenue can support research, hosting, editorial maintenance, link verification, and continued updates. Commercial relationships, however, must remain separate from our identification of official court sources.
Official court sources come first
A paid service is not an official court portal simply because it appears on this website. When an official case-search or clerk-records source exists, we aim to identify it clearly even if a commercial alternative is also available.
Affiliate links
An affiliate relationship can result in compensation when a reader takes a qualifying action after following a commercial link. When a material connection could affect how a reasonable reader evaluates a recommendation, the relationship should be disclosed clearly and conspicuously.
Official FTC resources
For general guidance on endorsements and material connections, readers and publishers can consult:
How we distinguish links
- Official court/government link: points to a court, clerk, judicial branch, PACER/U.S. Courts resource, government office, or authorized portal used by that public entity.
- Commercial link: points to an independent business offering a paid or free service outside the court system.
Commercial buttons, banners, or calls to action should not be designed or labeled in a way that falsely suggests they are the court’s official search function.
Editorial independence
Advertising or affiliate compensation should not determine:
- which court or clerk we identify as authoritative;
- whether we disclose a free official search;
- whether we describe a government fee accurately;
- whether we mention an official copy-request form;
- whether we explain that an online docket is not a certified record;
- whether we correct an outdated link; or
- whether we publish an FCRA or responsible-use warning.
Commercial court-record services
Commercial services can differ in coverage, update frequency, document availability, identity matching, billing, data sources, customer support, and legal status. A database that aggregates court information is not necessarily complete and may lag behind the official court docket.
FCRA reminder
Do not assume that an advertised court-record or people-search service is appropriate for employment, housing, credit, insurance, or another regulated eligibility decision. The provider’s own FCRA status, permissible-use terms, and compliance procedures control. See our FCRA & Responsible Use Notice.
Sponsored content
If content is created or placed as part of a paid sponsorship, it should be labeled so readers can distinguish the commercial relationship from independent editorial research.
No paid suppression of corrections
An advertiser or affiliate partner does not receive the right to block a legitimate factual correction. If our description of a court process is wrong, our standard is to correct it after verification.
Privacy and ad technology
Advertising and affiliate measurement can involve cookies, referral parameters, or other identifiers. See our Privacy, Cookies & Data Choices page for general information about those technologies and applicable controls.
